Katie Chin
Celebrity Chef and Culinary Ambassador for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation
Hi, I am Katie Chin! I am a chef, award-winning cookbook author, spokesperson, food blogger and the Culinary Ambassador to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Much of my cooking was inspired by my mother a Chinese immigrant who was working as a seamstress making 50C an hour. What started as simple luncheons for her clients turned into her first restaurant that she ended up selling to General Mills before buying it back and growing the chain into a $50 million dollar company.
Since my mother passed away, I’ve been on many extraordinary culinary adventures on my own such as cooking at The White House in 2013 for the Annual Easter Egg Roll, serving as a guest judge on Iron Chef America, competing on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen and Beat Bobby Flay. I’ve appeared on The Real on Fox, The Today Show and The Hallmark Channel on behalf of my last cookbook which honors my mom.
It is such a privilege to join the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation in this meaningful role as Culinary Ambassador…I lost both of my parents to cancer and am honored to partner with NPCF to help fund research to find less toxic and more targeted treatments for pediatric cancer patients – along with educating the American public about the role of healthy ingredients and cooking in potentially preventing and eradicating cancer.
Thank you for embarking on this culinary journey with me to provide children battling cancer with the treatment options they deserve.
