Meet Ivy! She is three years old and battling Neuroblastoma.
Until January 2021, Ivy met every milestone a typical 18-month-old should meet, but Ivy started to shake constantly and soon stopped walking and talking. After initial scans and tests, she was diagnosed with “ataxia” and had PT and OT for 2.5 months. During follow-up scans in March, a mass was found. After further tests, she was diagnosed with Opsoclonus-myoclonus syndrome (OMS), a neurological disorder, and Neuroblastoma. Once the OMS was treated, Ivy stopped shaking and started talking and walking again. To treat her cancer, she has endured five rounds of chemotherapy, hernia surgery, port placement/removal, a central line placement/removal, tumor removal, two high-dose chemo rounds with three autologous bone marrow transplants, 12 rounds of radiation, and five rounds of immunotherapy. Ivy continues to blow us away with how strong and brave she has been and never lets anyone forget ‘she’s got this’!
Sweet, sassy, and knows what she wants and when she wants it. She’s the boss and is going to let everyone know it.
Ivy was recently in our 2022 Houston Fashion Funds the Cure event and walked the runway during her Dream Walk as a Baker!
