Meet Papou! He is 10 years old and battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Papou’s cancer journey began with a really high fever when he was almost two years old. After his pediatrician recommended he go to the hospital following negative lab results, it was discovered his white blood cell count was too high, resulting in his diagnosis of B-Precursor Philadelphia Chromosome-like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His treatment included 27 lumbar punctures, 178 days of steroids, and almost three years of chemotherapy. On July 1, 2017, the day after his 5th birthday, Papou received his last chemotherapy with 130 people in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

Papou likes playing soccer and video games. You can also see him smiling from ear to ear as he sings and dances wherever he goes. His family describes him as being funny, friendly, and loving to everyone around him.

Papou was in our 2021 Tampa Fashion Funds the Cure event and walked the runway during his Dream Walk as a Chef!
