Avery is 14 years old and currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

When Avery was 11 years old, her mother took her to the doctor after experiencing weakness and pain in her ankle. After being diagnosed with a sprain and following the advised treatment, she was in severe pain three weeks later. The next doctor’s visit warranted an X-ray, which led to an MRI.

Though she completed her third round of chemotherapy, her battle was not over. She fought multiple infections and has endured endless blood tests, cultures, EKGs, and medications.

By standing up to cancer, Avery uncovered her ability to cope with difficult situations, deal with stress, and overcome insurmountable odds. She feels that fighting her Leukemia has taught her inner strength and resilience.

Avery was recently in our 2021 Houston Fashion Funds the Cure event and walked the runway during her Dream Walk as an Actress!
